Defects in electrical wiring of aircraft led in the past to serious accidents. Together with European partners Hortec investigated a Non Destructive testing method, which may contribute to safer air traffic. The Safewire system is based on a long-range ultrasonic testing method. By putting an ultrasonic signal on a wire harness it is possible to detect deviations. <\/p>\n<p>The project was financed by the European Community within the 7th framework program. The project consortium consists of Atard (TR), Marshall Aerospace (GB), Plant Integrity (GB), Brunel University (GB), Cereteth (EL), Assist (RO), Polkom Badania (PL) and Hortec as project leader.<\/p>\n<p>www.safewire.eu<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hortec has successfully completed the Safewire project.
